Cheap and Very Convenient Web Based Software For Your Business

Project Management:

This is a really easy to use program that allows you to discuss with other team members, set milestones, share files etc. It’s simplicity is the best thing about it and I would be lost without it!

Billing and Invoicing:

This a great, and cheap way of keeping track of clients and invoicing. You need to have a look around to get a good feel for it – but I find it’s integrated payments system and the ability to automatically send both email and regular letter invoices (they put it in an envelope and send it for you with your branding) really convenient.

Customer Relationship Management/Contacts Management:

This is from the same makers of Basecamp. Equally easy to use – each person you are tracking has their own page which you can comment on to remind you of correspondence. You can also associate Tasks with people, and the website will email you reminders when those tasks are due. There is also a neat feature that allows you to forward your emails into your Highrise website. Then Highrise automatically creates a new Contact with the information in that forwarded email.

When you get your new website built you should use Google Analytics to track visitors.

These four programs I swear by, and they are all very easy to set up.

I’m currently starting a new offline business with a partner who lives 6hrs away and although we talk on Skype constantly, we’ve been thinking about basecamp basic. Not only for the organization that it will bring but also the ability to sit down in front of the interface and literally see our goals right before our eyes. For me, I think it would help to keep me more focused on the task at hand.

Thank you for bringing making us aware of these 3 programs Paul. I use google analytics on all the web things I do, as it allows anyone in the team to keep an eye on how we are doing.

The programs that you have mentioned here (particularly basecamp) will make any future projects a lot easier to do as a team.
